Introduction

The Women’s Cell of Govt. Degree College, Nankhari was established in the academic session 2023-24 with the objective of promoting gender equality, women empowerment, and a safe, inclusive environment on the campus. The Cell works to create awareness about women’s rights, health, and social responsibilities while fostering confidence and leadership qualities among girl students.

Functioning under the guidance of the Principal and a faculty convenor, the Cell organises various programmes such as seminars, awareness sessions, health talks, workshops, and competitions related to women’s welfare and gender sensitisation. It aims to ensure that every woman in the college community feels respected, valued, and empowered to realise her full potential both academically and personally.

Objectives

The key objectives of the Women’s Cell are to:

1. Promote gender equality and create awareness about women’s rights and responsibilities.
2. Ensure a safe and supportive campus environment free from discrimination and harassment.
3. Empower girl students by enhancing their confidence, self-esteem, and leadership abilities.
4. Organise awareness programmes on issues related to women’s health, hygiene, and wellbeing.
5. Encourage participation of women in academic, cultural, and community development activities.
6. Sensitise students and staff towards gender-related issues through talks, discussions, and campaigns.
7. Provide guidance and support to girl students in addressing personal or academic concerns.

WOMEN CELL ACTIVITIES
